Man critically hurt in Watsonville shooting
A man is listed in critical, but stable, condition in a Bay Area trauma center, after being shot Monday night in Watsonville.
Police say they received reports of shots fired around 6:24 p.m. Monday in the rear parking lot of La Princesa Market, 1260 Main Street.
Officers found a male gunshot victim lying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive. The man was taken to Watsonville Community Hospital, and later transferred to a Bay Area facility.
There is very little suspect information available. Witnesses said they saw someone running from the scene, and a dark colored SUV was also reported leaving the area at a high rate of speed.
The victim’s name has not yet been released.
