Man high on drugs arrested after crashing into Santa Cruz home

A San Jose man is in custody after driving under the influence of drugs and crashing into the front yard of a Santa Cruz home on Saturday, according to Santa Cruz police.

Officials say 21-year-old Daniel Lee drove his white Lexus into the yard of a home on the 1600 block of Bay Street around 11:10 p.m. Lee struck the curb line on Bay Street and then hit a tree, a sign, another tree and then slammed into the fence of the home.

Police found Lee with a large amount of marijuana, cocaine, and several used whip-it (nitrous oxide) canisters.

Lee was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of drugs. Nobody was hurt in the accident.
