Improvements along San Lorenzo Riverwalk continue
The City of Santa Cruz continues to improve the path along the San Lorenzo River. The city has invested 200,000 dollars to essentially revitalize the Riverwalk and improve public safety.
“We’re all joining the effort to really revitalize and re-energize the Riverwalk for everyone,” said Janice Bisgaard with the City of Santa Cruz.
Improvements come in the form of line striping the Riverwalk, new LED lighting, increased officer patrols, and outdoor fitness equipment. All of which will be completed prior to the summer season.
“You know it could really use some additional improvements so I’m happy to see that they’re doing that,” said local Mike Ahern.
Also, slated to be completed in November, is a path across the Branciforte Creek which would complete connect the gap in the 5-mile Riverwalk path.
