Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban to retire, sources say

TUSCALOSA, AL, (KION-TV)- One of the greatest runs in College Football history will be coming to an end.
According to Chris Low of ESPN, Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban is retiring from coaching and has informed his team.
The 72-year-old Saban spent 17 seasons in Tuscaloosa and won six National Titles with the Crimson Tide. He led the Crimson Tide, (12-2) to an appearance at the Rose Bowl where they lost to Michigan.
Saban started his career at University of Toledo where he spent one season in 1990. He spent five seasons at Michigan State and spent another five seasons with the LSU Tigers where he won a National Title in 2003.
He went to the NFL where he served as a head coach for the Miami Dolphins before returning to college football in 2007.
Saban finishes his coaching career with a 297-71-1 record which is fifth all-time. He won seven National Championships as a coach which is the most all-time in college football history.
