Watsonville police: Murder victim died while officers tried to save him

A man was shot Friday and died as officers tried to save him, according to Watsonville police.

Officers said they responded to a report of shots heard just after 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of West Beach Street in Watsonville.

When officers arrived, they found a 33 year-old man who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. His identity is not being released at this time, police said.

The man died at the scene as officers treated him, police said.
