Monterey County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad responds to a false alarm at Monterey Airport

The Monterey sheriff’s bomb squad responded about 9 a.m. Sunday to reports about something suspicious inside the terminal of the Monterey Airport.

Officials said after a search it was determined the suspected pipe bomb turned out the be a rolled-up tube with artwork.

Flights and passengers were not impacted during the search.
