Man surrenders after standoff in Prunedale

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the man barricaded in his residence in Prunedale has surrendered after a standoff with deputies.

Officials say he had brandished a weapon at a landscape worker and then barricaded himself.

Monterey County Sheriff’s Office responded to the standoff in Prunedale off of North Road. Deputies were able to deescalate the situation with no injuries.
