Epic Ride leaves Salinas for month-long trip across the U.S.

Veterans and family members of veterans took off from Salinas Post 31 to Needles in what will be a month long ride across the United States to raise awareness and money for the continued development of the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery. It is in the second phase, which will include in-ground burial for those Veterans who desire it or whose faith or culture requires it.

The Epic Ride hopes to raise money while bringing a flag to Arlington National Cemetery, which will be flown over the Tomb of the Unknown’s. After that, the flag will return to the Central Coast Veterans Cemetery where it will fly every Memorial Day.

This trip will take more than 30 days and wrap up on October 6th in Seaside. They will ride to Dallas, Las Vegas, Washington D.C. and more than 20 other cities.
