Semi plows into power pole in Monterey, streets closed

A semi carrying specialty cars hit a power pole at Lighthouse Avenue and Eardley Avenue in Monterey Wednesday afternoon, according to the fire department.

Crews said the area will be closed for several hours as PG&E works to fix the pole and traffic is expected to back up. Power is not out in the area and the pole is leaning on power lines, according to a firefighter.

Lighthouse Ave., which turns into Central Ave. in Pacific Grove, is closed from David Ave. to Eardley Ave.
