UPDATE: Suspect returns stolen wallet to Maya Cinemas

UPDATE 11/16/15 2:45 PM: The suspect caught on surveillance video stealing a wallet has returned the wallet, according to the Salinas Police Department.

Officers said the suspect returned to Maya Cinemas about an hour after they released information about the incident. The case will now head to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office.

Salinas Police officers are looking for a woman who they say stole a wallet at Maya Cinemas. The incident was caught on surveillance video.

Police said the victim lost her wallet when it fell from her pocket at the concession stand.

A woman was caught on surveillance picking up the wallet and hiding it in her jacket.

The Salinas Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding the woman in the surveillance photos. Anyone with information is asked to call the officer on the case at 831-775-4201 ext. 6362, or anonymously at 831-775-4222.
