UPDATE: Amtrak train, big rig collide

UPDATE 8:56 PM: One person was taken to a hospital after an Amtrak train collided with a big rig in King City Tuesday.

The crash happened on Lonoak Road and South 1st St. just before 1 p.m.

More than 100 people were on board the train, police said. No injuries were reported. The drive of the big rig was taken to Mee Memorial Hospital and was later released, police said.

The California Highway Patrol assisted with traffic control. Roads were cleared up approximately four hours later, officials said.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.

Authorities confirmed an Amtrak collided with a big rig in King City Tuesday afternoon.
