San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges in Northeast Ohio after being arrested on suspicion of engaging in prostitution over the weekend, authorities said.

According to documents obtained by CBS News Bay Area from the Columbiana County Municipal Court, York was arrested Sunday in the town of East Palestine, about 20 miles south of Youngstown.

A police report obtained by CBS affiliate WKBN-TV said that the arrest was made by East Palestine police, with the assistance of the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force at the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community.

York, whose legal name is John Edward York, was booked on suspicion of engaging in prostitution, which was later amended to disorderly conduct. He was also booked on suspicion of possessing criminal tools.

On Monday, York pleaded no contest to counts of disorderly conduct and possessing criminal tools. York was ordered to two days in the Columbiana County Jail, with one day credit for time served, along with paying a $1,150 fine.

The nephew of former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo, York was born and raised in Youngstown. York was named the team’s CEO in 2008 and has been the majority owner of the franchise since 2024.

In a statement, the San Francisco 49ers said, “As this is a legal matter, which has been resolved, we will not be providing any further comment at this time.”

CBS News Bay Area reached out Monday to York’s attorney for comment.
