Pro-Am Day Two: Stargazers flock to shore course
Good games and beautiful weather drew another big crowd at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
At 8 a.m., 156 pros and their amateur pairs teed off.
The Monterey Peninsula Country Club was the place to be Friday for stargazers.
The Fishers had their eyes peeled.
“I will be honest with you, (I’m looking for) Ray Romano, Jake Owen,” Sheryl Fisher said.
The Castillo clan came for another pair of players.
“I was looking out for Rory and my dad is a big fan of Phil. Now that they are together, it’s just perfect,” Serina Castillo said.
Irish player Rory McIlroy is paired with Phil “Lefty” Mickelson.
This is McIlroy’s first appearance at the Pro-Am. He brought his father along as his amateur partner, and fans are loving the duo.
“He’s playing with his dad, which would be a cool experience. I would want to experience that, to play with my dad,” Marissa Castillo said.
Enjoying the tournament is easy, but finding the players takes effort. While studying the schedule, Keith Fisher got an idea.
“If there was an app that gives you where each player was, it’d be perfect,” Fisher said.
Saturday is cut day before the final round. The winner takes home $1.3 million.
