Palo Alto piano teacher accused of sexually abusing a child

A Palo Alto piano teacher was arrested in Santa Cruz County accused of sexually abusing a child.

According to Palo Alto Police, 34-year-old Nicholas Robinson was arrested at a relative’s house in Soquel on Thursday, January 10th. He’s now facing 17 counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and one count of dissuading a witness.

Police said the arrest comes after they got information about a girl being sexually abused over a 17 month period at a home on Campana Drive. Police received the information on Sunday, January 6th and the arrest came days later.

Police said during the investigation, officers learned Robinson had inappropriately touched an elementary school aged girl he was also related to.

Robinson teaches piano lessons to children out of his home and police say they are now looking into whether there are more victims because he had access to other children.

Detectives say they are not aware of any additional victims at this time, but they are asking anyone who believes their child may be a victim to call the 24 hour dispatch center at (650) 329-2413.
