Pilot survives plane crash at Marina Airport

A pilot crashed his airplane at Marina Municipal Airport and survived.

The aircraft accident happened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Marina police and firefighters responded and found the plane flipped over.

Marina PD said the pilot was able to walk away from the incident with minor injuries. He was treated at the scene.

The airport was closed to all aviation traffic while the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board investigated.

Airport operations resumed around 1 p.m.
