Greenfield woman identified in fatal accident

King City police said they responded to a deadly accident at about 1:20 p.m. Saturday in the 600 Block of South First Street.

A person driving a farm labor vehicle carrying a trailer hit a group of six people who were walking in that same area, according to police.

Police said that the driver of the trailer lost control and hit the group of six, which consisted of two adult women and four children.

Rebecca Evangelista, 63, from Greenfield died at the scene.

The other woman was treated at a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. One child was slightly injured but released at the scene. The other three children were not injured.

Police said an investigation determined that alcohol or drugs were not a factor in this accident.
