Man found dead in Ben Lomond house fire

A house fire has claimed the life of a man in Ben Lomond.

According to fire officials, firefighters responded to a 2-alarm structure fire at 235 Larita Drive around 7:03 a.m. Monday.

Authorities said after the fire was out a male body was found. It’s believed the man had been renting on the property along with several others.

Firefighters from Boulder Creek Fire, Ben Lomond Fire, Zayante Fire, Scott’s Valley Fire, Santa Cruz City Fire and Cal Fire responded to help douse the flames.

An autopsy will be done this week to determine the cause of his death.

Investigators are also working to determine the cause of the fire.
