Gang member busted with loaded guns and drugs in Salinas

Monterey County Sheriff’s deputies busted a 22-year-old gang member in possession of a loaded gun and drugs.

Over the weekend, officers pulled over Gabriel Lopez outside his Salinas home in the 100 block of Hebron Street. During a search officers found Lopez in possession of a loaded handgun in his car along with methamphetamine and marijuana.

“A total of four firearms that included two .40 caliber handguns, one 9 mm handgun and a 12 gauge shotgun, were located and seized. Lopez possessed quantities of methamphetamine and marijuana for sale,” said Monterey County Sheriffs.

Deputies also found countless rounds of ammunition.

Lopez, a Sureño gang member faces firearm, narcotics and gang related charges.
