Pebble Beach Pro Am setup begins

Pebble Beach Golf Course hosts several events throughout the year, but one takes a little more time to put together. It also happens to be the biggest golf event on the Central Coast!

Thursday organizers began the set up for it, but the wild thing about that is it doesn’t even start for two months! We’re talking about the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am.

Crews were out at pebble beach today starting work for the event, which includes 240-thousand square feet of Pro Am necessities, like grandstands, restrooms, trailers, and much more. With an annual attendance of over 200-thousand spectators, it takes about two months to build and re-organize the famous golf course. Organizers say the hardest part of setting up is trying not to be too noticeable.

“I think the greatest impact that we’re concerned with is impacting the residents of the Pebble Beach Community. We come to town and we want to make sure it’s a seamless transaction so we’re doing our best by eliminating noise when we can and just to kind of be out of their way,” said AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am Tournament Director, Steve John.

The Central Coast will see a big list of professionals teeing off for the tournament, including Rory McIlroy who will make his Pebble Beach Pro Am debut. Three celebrities will also make their Pro Am debuts: They include country music star Dierks Bentley, Train lead singer Pat Monahan, and Chris Harrison from The Bachelor.

The 2018 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am will run from February 5th through the 11th. We’ll see you over there!
