Second fire hydrant gushing water this week it was hit to avoid a car crash near Costco in Salinas

Crews are on the scene of a broken light pole and fire hydrant that is gushing water in Salinas.

It happened in front of Costco south of North Davis just after 9 a.m. Saturday.

According to Salinas Police, a woman driving southbound on North Davis was cut off by another driver, swerved and hit a fire hydrant and light pole.

No one was hurt.

Cal Water is working to shut off the fire hydrant.

Salinas Fire Department and PG&E are on scene working on the light pole.

Portion of the road is temporarily blocked, according to police.

Another fire hydrant was hit Tuesday by a driver avoiding a car crash in that area.
