Watsonville Police find rifle during routine traffic stop

During a routine traffic stop Watsonville Police found a man in possession of an assault rifle.

Officers initially stopped driver, Abraham Rosas for a vehicle code violation. However, when officers did a search of the car they found a short barrel rifle in the trunk. There was also a loaded extended magazine with the rifle.

Rosas was arrested for possession of an assault weapon and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
