Man arrested after leading Marina Police on short chase

A man is behind bars after officials say he led police on a brief chase Tuesday.

A Marina Police Officer pulled over a vehicle for a routine traffic stop, when the male driver of the vehicle fled from the officer. A short foot chase began into a residential area.

A perimeter was established and a CSU Police Officer spotted the male suspect in the 300 block of Reservation Road. The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The vehicle and plates were determined to be stolen and the male suspect was out on bail for other criminal cases. The male suspect also was driving on a suspended driver license and possessed narcotics.

The suspect is identified as Rodrigo Cecenas and was booked into the Monterey County jail.
