City of Marina welcomes new police chief

The City of Marina has a new police chief.

Tina M. Nieto will be taking over the department after serving with the Los Angeles Police Department for 28 years.

Nieto said she is humbled and excited to join a great team of talented professionals in Marina.

“It has been a long-term goal to serve as Police Chief in a community like Marina, one that is committed to its Police Department and continued excellence in community partnerships. I am blessed for this opportunity of a lifetime and look forward to both the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead,” said Tina Nieto.

Nieto started work as the new Chief of Police on September 11th.
