Suspected explosive device inside Watsonville home, bomb squad on scene

A suspected explosive device was found inside a Watsonville home.

According to Watsonville Police, officers were serving a routine search warrant in the 200 block of Center Street around 1:40 p.m. Friday. Inside the home officers came across what looked like a small explosive device. .

Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad is on scene and are working to detonate the device. No injuries have been reported.

Watsonville Police ask the public to stay away from the area near Center and Lincoln Streets.
