UPDATE: Soquel structure fire that spread to vegetation contained

Several witnesses reported seeing flames and black smoke in the Santa Cruz Mountains near Soquel.

According to Cal Fire, calls for a fire in the area of Amaya Ridge Road and Soquel San Jose came in around 10:22 a.m. Thursday.

Cal Fire Chief, Rob Sherman said air support was able to find the location of the fire where a small structure burned and flames spread into nearby vegetation.

Ground resources gained access to the flames. Cal Fire said the fire was completely put out by 11:45 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
