Lightning sparks fire in Santa Cruz County

Fire crews are responding to several fires in Santa Cruz County following lightning strikes in the area.

Aptos Fire said crews are on the scene of a fire at 368 Quail Canyon and Larkin Valley. Reports of lightning striking a eucalyptus tree came in around 4:34 p.m. The tree caught fire near a gated community. No threats have been reported at this time.

Cal Fire Aptos said they are responding to multiple wildland fires.
