Watsonville Quik Stop robbed at gunpoint

An armed robber and an accomplice held up a Quik Stop convenience store in Watsonville early Sunday, police said.

Officers were alerted to the holdup at the Quik Stop at 2140 Freedom Blvd. just after 3 a.m.

The two robbers, one armed with a silver handgun, entered the store and demanded cash from an employee, police said.

The clerk handed over an unknown amount of cash.

Police said the clerk was not harmed.

The robbers fled northbound on Freedom Blvd. on foot, police said.

Officers searched the area but the individuals were not located.
