San Martin man left unconscious on Highway 152 after hit-and-run

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a hit and run that left a San Martin man unconscious on the side of the road.

According to CHP, a 63-year-old man was walking near Highway 152 west of Frazier Lake Road when a Toyota apparently struck him. Officer arrived on scene around 4 a.m. Friday and found the man unconscious lying on the shoulder with major injuries.

Authorities said it appears the vehicle that collided with the pedestrian was traveling eastbound on 152 at the time of the crash. Officers are unsure when exactly the man was hit and how long he was lying unconscious before the call to dispatch was made.

“Several pieces of vehicle debris were located at the scene from the involved vehicle. From the debris, officers have determined that the suspect vehicle is a black unknown make/model Toyota. The suspect vehicle should have collision damage to its right front side and shoulder be missing its right side view mirror,” said Investigating Officer, L. Miramontes.

CHP said it’s unclear if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the hit and run. The collision is under investigation.
Anyone with information on the hit and run is encouraged to contact Officer Luis Miramontes at 408-848-23-24.
