Hit and run driver hits woman and children in Salinas

Salinas Police say a woman and several children are in the hospital after being hit by a car.

It happened around 8 p.m. in the intersection of Towt and Paseo Grande. Police couldn’t confirm how many children were hurt, or their exact ages. They were all taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver left the scene, but thanks to witnesses, they were able to identify the car and contact the driver.

The driver is being questioned.
