Caltrans taking steps to prevent landslides along Highway 101 – Expect delays

Highway 101 NB by Blackie Road will be reduced to one lane beginning at 9AM on Tuesday and Wednesday. Caltrans will be planting hydro-seed on the slopes in the area to prevent future erosion. “The combination of taking care of areas that were distressed during the last winter storm season. It is also a way for us to do some storm preparation in advance, so we can minimize the number of slides that will occur if we have another strong rainy season,” said Caltrans PIO Jim Shivers.
