Watsonville Police Officers grow beards to support children with cancer

For the third year in a row, Officers with the Watsonville Police Department have been given the go ahead from Chief Honda to skip their normal shaving routine.

Officers with the “Beard Brigade” are doing this to participate in a fundraiser for Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support Service. Every participating officer will donate $100 to Jacob’s Heart and grow their beards for three months, ending on September 30th .

So far, the Department has raised almost $3,000, all of which will be donated to Jacob’s Heart at their Kidrageous Golden Carnival on Sunday, September 24th at the downtown City Plaza.
