Man stabs neighbor in Santa Cruz

A 73-year-old man stabbed his neighbor after an argument at their mobile home park in Santa Cruz.

According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, Thomas Keaton confronted his male neighbor at a mobile home park in the 700 block of 30th Avenue. Around 10:25 a.m. Thursday an argument erupted and Keaton stabbed his neighbor in the upper torso. The Sheriff’s Office said after the stabbing Keaton fled to his home.

Deputies arrived and found the victim in critical condition. The man was airlifted to Valley Medical Center in San Jose.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office collected evidence and witness statements at the scene. Keaton was arrested at his home.

Keaton was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail for attempted murder.
