UPDATE: Drunk driver arrested for Highway 1 rollover

A drunk driver has been arrested after crashing and flipping a car on Highway 1 in Watsonville.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 57-year-old Stephen DeWitt of Hollister was under the influence when he lost control of his Jeep and crashed near Buena Vista Drive around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.

DeWitt suffered injuries to his leg.

CHP said ironically the man crashed into a “report drunk drivers” sign on Highway 1.

The number one southbound lane was closed for about an hour. CHP wants to remind drivers, driving drunk is not worth the risk.
