Hollister Police arrest 5th suspect in murder of Victor Barajas

A fifth homicide suspect is in custody for the murder of 23-year-old Victor Barajas.

Barajas was killed in Hollister back in May.

On August 2, Detectives with the Hollister Police Department were informed that 25-year-old Nikko Espinoza was arrested and held in jail by the San Diego Sheriff’s Office.

The San Benito County District Attorney’s Office had issued a warrant for Espinoza shortly after the homicide of 23-year-old Victor Barajas on May 28, 2017.

Hollister Police said Espinoza was on the run for weeks before he was caught by law enforcement officials in San Diego.

Four other suspects had been arrested in this case back in June. 22-year-old Luis Dominguez, 22-year-old Luis Garcia Mendez, 23-year-old Alfonzo Contreras, and Jose Estrada have been charged for the murder of Barajas.

Espinoza is from Hollister and was booked for murder and is being held on $1,000,000 bail at the San Benito County Jail.

The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Detective Martinez at the Hollister Police Department at 831-636-4330.
