UPDATE: Santa Cruz man admits to lighting his mobile home on fire

A resident admitted to lighting his couch on fire inside his Santa Cruz County mobile home.

According to Central Fire District officials, a call for a fire at Pine Knoll Mobile Home Park came in at 2:02 a.m. Tuesday.

When firefighters arrived they found a travel trailer in space 42 fully engulfed in flames.

The resident was found uninjured.

The fire was extinguished with little damage done to neighboring mobile homes. The trailer itself was considered to be a total loss.

The resident of the mobile home was taken into custody.
