Wildfire contained near Parkfield in Monterey County

UPDATE 8/8/17 8:43 p.m.: Cal Fire said a wildfire near Parkfield is now fully contained.

The fire scorched 83 acres. Firefighters say downed power lines may have started the fire, but the cause is still under investigation.

Firefighters are working to put out a wildfire in Monterey County.

According to Cal Fire, the so-called Country Fire is burning near Parkfield.

As of Monday, Aug 7th, at 7:40 p.m., it had grown to 70 acres and is 30 percent contained.

The fire is burning in the area of Portuguese Canyon Road at Cross Country Road southeast of Bradley.
