SWAT team recovers stolen guns during gang related raids in Monterey County

Two suspects are behind bars after Monterey County investigators found a number of stolen guns inside three homes.

In the early morning hours of August 6, Investigators of the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office served warrants at 430 San Antonio Drive in King City, 1105 Palm Avenue in Soledad and 349 Iris Drive in Salinas.

SWAT members recovered 8 firearms, 4 of which were stolen out of Monterey and San Benito Counties. In addition to the firearms, numerous items, possibly of gang related material to the Norteño gang were located inside the residences, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

25-year-old William DeWitt and 18-year-old Ulises Silva of King City were arrested in connection to the stolen firearms.

DeWitt and Silva remain in custody at the Monterey County Jail.

The District Attorney Investigators were assisted by SWAT team members from the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and Salinas Police Department.
