Officers were conducting a walk-through of a business in the 300 block of Main Street on Sunday night when they saw 28-year-old Juan Antonio Cervantes. Officers were aware that the Salinas resident had an outstanding warrant for his arrest related to the September 2008 homicide of Adrian Carranza that happened on Perez Street.

Cervantes was arrested without incident and booked into the Monterey County Jail. He is being held on one count of homicide, two counts of attempted homicide, and gang enhancements.
