Locals react to Warriors loss

The energy at Salinas Sports Tavern was intense during Game 4 of the NBA Finals.

Just about everyone at the tavern Friday night wanted to see the Warriors defeat the Cavaliers so, when they didn’t, the mood changed and many went home.

People showed up Friday evening with their warriors attire ready to root on their home team, which is what they did to the end.

The Cavaliers jumped out to a huge lead right from the get-go, and at half time, many Warriors fans were divided on what the outcome would be.

“Warriors are down by about 18, they’re still gonna win it by about 5 points I’m calling right now,” said Otis McClanahan during half time.

“I’m hoping that we take the sweep but it seems the Cavs have shown up and finally played,” said Cynthia Ruiz.

After the game Ruiz said she was upset by the loss but optimistic about Game 5.

Game 5 takes place in Oakland Monday at 6 p.m.
