Road open in Soquel after a car hits fire hydrant

UPDATE 6/8/2017 2:18 p.m.: The California Highway Patrol in Santa Cruz County said the roadway is clear and open.

PREVIOUS STORY:

According to the Santa Cruz County Communications, a car hit a fire hydrant in Soquel on the 5500 block of Soquel Drive at about 12:30 p.m.

Authorities said there are live power lines above the busted hydrant which poses an electrical threat.

The Water Department and Fire officials are on scene. No time frame as to when the area will be secure.
