Vegetation fire contained at 15 acres in Corral de Tierra

UPDATE: 6/7/2017 4:09 p.m. Vegetation fire contained at 15 acres, according to fire officials.

Cal fire crews extinguished a wildfire in Corral de Tierra off Castlerock Road in Salinas this afternoon.

The blaze was put out within an hour.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Monterey Fire is requesting CHP close both directions of Corral de Tierra Road at Highway 68 due to a vegetation fire.

The fire has burned about 10 acres of land near Markham Ranch.
