Seaside votes on measure L & G
Seaside voters are invited to watch as ballots are cast in Tuesday’s special election at City Hall Council Chambers.
Seaside residents are voting on measures L and G. Measure L proposes raising the sales tax from $8.75 to $9.25, which is predicted to generate $1.9 million annually if passed.
Measure G proposes a 10 percent tax increase on businesses that sell marijuana, which is predicted to generate $300,000 annually if passed.
According to City Clerk Lesley Milton-Rerig, ballots and materials will be delivered to City Hall after the polls close at 8 p.m. and each polling location conducts a count of the votes cast.
The final count for Seaside’s special election will not be determined until June 17.
