New U.S. citizens honored at Pinnacles

Nearly a dozen Central Coast residents became citizens Tuesday against the backdrop of the Pinnacles National Park.

The naturalization ceremony for America’s news citizens was held at America’s newest National Park to help mark the National Park Service’s centennial celebration in 2016.

Representative Sam Farr (D-Calif.) joined local mayors and state immigration officials to congratulate the new citizens and celebrate the Park Service’s birthday.

According to a release by Rep. Farr’s office, eleven people were sworn in Tuesday. Four live in Soledad, three reside in Salinas, two in King City, one in Greenfield and one in Santa Cruz.
