State launches new tool for voters

The Secretary of State announced Thursday, the launch of a new online tool available for California voters. The new website provides voters with a list of the top campaign contributions for each of the 17 state proposition as well as a brief nonpartisan analysis on each measure.

“With 17 statewide propositions on the November ballot, every voter is a lawmaker. California voters have some big decisions to make in the weeks ahead. This new tool can help,” Secretary of State Alex Padilla said.

According to state officials, the financial numbers are updated daily. It also includes what a “yes” and “no” vote means for each proposition, and arguments for both sides.

The Secretary of State said the site is meant to help navigate voters through conflicting messages they may receive during the election season.

The last day to register for the November 2016 election is October 24th.
