UPDATE: Seaside Police arrest shooting suspect

UPDATE 10/12/16 8:30 P.M.: Seaside Police have arrested a man for a shooting on Ord Grove Avenue.

Monterey Police said 22-year-old Luciano Rivas Farias of Tulare was taken into custody on Tuesday, October 11 th after officers found him hiding in the yard of a home on Luxton Street in Seaside.

Farias is accused of shooting a man on Ord Grove Avenue on Monday. The victim is expected to be okay.

According to police, Farias knew the victim.

The shooting does not appear to be gang-related.

He was arrested for attempted murder, kidnapping to commit robbery, robbery, kidnapping, burglary, possession of a short-barreled shotgun and taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

He’s in the Monterey County Jail on a $2,100,000 bail.

Seaside Police are investigating a shooting Monday morning.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. in the 1200 block area of Ord Grove. Police say one person was shot and taken to a local hospital.
