Cal Fire: Loma Fire now 99 percent contained

The Loma Fire in the Santa Cruz mountains is 99 percent contained as of late Tuesday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.

The fire sparked on Sept. 26 off Loma Prieta Road and Loma Chiquita Road, near Morgan Hill. The fire also spread into Santa Cruz County.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The fire has burned 4,474 acres destroying 12 homes and 16 outbuildings, according to Cal Fire. Fire officials hope to have it fully contained by Wednesday.
