Loma Fire still 95 percent contained

CORRECTION: The Loma Fire is still 95 percent contained, despite an update on the Cal Fire website saying the fire was fully contained by 5:00 p.m. October 6.

Crews said they were calling fire officials in Sacramento to make the correction.

Cal Fire confirms the Loma Fire in the Santa Cruz mountains is fully contained. Crews originally expected containment by Saturday, October 8.

The fire grew to 4,474 acres and started on September 26 near Loma Prieta Rd. and Loma Chiquita Rd. in Santa Clara County.
