Pot grow busted near Loma Fire

UPDATE 10/6/16: The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said Yariv Dorr was arrested and is facing charges related to an illegal marijuana grow busted Wednesday morning on Loma Chiquita Rd.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office tells KION that deputies discovered a pot grow with nearly 90 marijuana plants near the Loma Fire, after a search warrant was issued at a home along Loma Chiquita Rd. Wednesday morning.

Deputies said some of the plants were more than 12 feet tall and weighed more than 40 pounds. One person was arrested.

The sheriff’s office said multiple marijuana grows have been found in the area before and after the fire started.

Officials said the bust was not part of their investigation into the cause of the Loma Fire.
