Soledad woman killed in crash, CHP says

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on State Route 146 near Ramus Road Tuesday evening.

Officers said Rosa Marie Sanchez, 28, of Soledad, was driving eastbound on 146 and for unknown reasons she veered off the road. Sanchez overcorrected and ended up hitting a barbed-wire fence, then hit a large oak tree, CHP said.

Officers said Sanchez was ejected from the car and died at the scene. It’s not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
