UPDATE: Child in stolen car found safe in Salinas

UPDATE 8/31/16 8:47 PM: Salinas Police officers have found the child who was inside a stolen car at a Rite Aid on Williams Road.

Officers also recovered the car. The boy is not hurt.

The car was abandoned and no one has been arrested.

Salinas Police are looking for a stolen car with a 22-month old child in the backseat.

Police said the car was stolen just before 8 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Market Street and Madeira Avenue.

The car is a 1995 white Honda Civic with green rims and license plate number 3TKU149.

Police have requested an Amber Alert from the state.

There is no suspect information at this time.
